An update from us on SCA (11th June, 2020)
We introduced Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) to Curve to protect your payments.
Once you’d made five contactless payments in a row, or once your contactless payments totalled £135/150€, your next contactless payment would be declined and you’d need to make a Chip and PIN transaction before using contactless again.
Your financial security is our top priority, but your health is important to us too. In light of COVID-19, and in the interest of our customers’ safety, we’ve decided to disable SCA for contactless payments for now. We’ll be sure to let you know when we re-enable this in the future.
In the meantime, we’ll continue to monitor the use of contactless to protect you from financial risks.
As always, if you have any concerns when using Curve, please get in touch with us through the form here and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have!
