You can use Google Pay to shop with your debit and credit cards in-app, online or in a vast majority of physical stores accepting Google Pay contactless payments. Also, there’s no limit on the value of Google Pay transactions, however, some merchants apply the contactless limit and only accept payments up to £30 (or £45 from April 1st, 2020). There’s no limit for transactions made in-app.
All of your transactions using Curve with Google Pay will still be subject to your Curve spending limits.
Please note that if you lock your Curve Card in the app you won’t be able to make payments with Google Pay.
How do I stop getting multiple notifications for my purchases?
Both Google Pay and Curve send instant notifications, which means you’ll be notified twice every time you pay with your Curve Card on Google Pay (potentially three times if your underlying payment card also gives you instant notifications).
If you don’t want to get two notifications for every transaction, you can turn off notifications in Google Pay:
- Open the Google Pay app and tap the "hamburger" menu in the top left corner.
- Tap “Notifications.”
- Turn the “Purchases” toggle off.
Invisible payments
Google Pay has an option enabling you to make contactless payments just by unlocking your phone. No need to open the app to pay with your selected default payment card.
